Practice starts Monday, February 10th at 5:30 pm at the Palomar College pool. The first week is considered try-outs.  You must turn in your clearance to the trainer before you can swim. Get the clearance packet from the school Finance Office or Forms page of this website.

Swimmers need to be able to swim at least two lengths without stopping and be able to put their face in the water while swimming in order to tryout.  Students in more than one sport or other major activity (that is not swim or water polo) need to commit to not missing practices or swim meets for their other sport/activity in order to try out.  

 

Practices Monday - Fridays at 5:45- 7:30 pm at Palomar College..  Club swimmers must attend five high school practices before the first meet. Except on 2/14,2/28, 3/23, 3/24, 3/26, 4/3 practice will be at the Woodland Park pool from 3:30 - 5:30.  There will be no practice on 2/17, 4/9, 4/10 and weekends.

 

At Palomar College, free parking is allowed in the Lot 14 only using this Parking Permit.   Lot 14 is off Mission Ave, before you turn onto Comet Circle, just east of the college.  See detailed MAP of Palomar Collage to find the pool and Lot 14 (in the lower right corner).  You may also use one of the Daily Pay Machines found in lot 3 or lot 5.  If you do not download the free permit, or get a one day permit at a machine, you may be ticketed.​

Recommended team suit for boys is the Speedo Spark Splice Eco brief in maroon. For girls it is the TYR Alliance T Splice Maxfit in black/burgundy.  These suits can be purchased from our team store at swimoutlet.com/missionhills but they are also available at other sites.  The team gets a portion of the proceeds from our team store but you are not required to purchase from the team store. Team suits are for meets; swimmers should have a separate practice suit.  If you don’t buy the team suit, please get a suit similar to school colors. Girls need one piece cross back suits at meets.  No logos on suits unless they are MHHS or brand names.  All swimmers need caps & goggles.   Caps for meets only are provided.  

 

Buses to away meets will be provided if enough families donate the $45 transportation fee to be paid through MHHS Finance (designate it is for Swim.) This fee is a donation and not required but if sufficient funds are not donated, swimmers might have to find their own transportation to meets.

 

The team provides parkas and bags for the season but they must be returned at the end of the season. If they are not returned it will result in a $200 hold on the student’s account with Finance at MHHS. A hold prevents any purchases through MHHS Finance as well as getting graduation tickets.

 

We need parent help! This will be discussed as well as other information at the parent meeting on February 20th at 6pm at the Palomar College pool.
